Lots of hawks near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area last December. It's been a while since I've had time to get out there.
Last weekend I shot a bike race on ice, a basketball game and a pond hockey game. This weekend I'll be official media for the Red Bull Crashed Ice Championship in St. Paul.

Today at the TCAAP WVA, I Saw a Sunset
Managed to make it out to the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area for sunset today. The temp wasn't so bad but the wind was biting.

Previously Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw a Curve in the Sunset
I made it out near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area this morning but came home only with a crummy shot of a wild turkey. It was too blurry to share with the world.
It was very busy in the area so I opted to head home early.

Today Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw Deer
Ya, I saw deer again near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area today. This particular buck must've just dropped his antlers for the year. I can see the little stumpy holes on his head.
I only saw one red-tailed hawk. No rough-legged or kestrel. The flock of American tree sparrows is still around in the same area as are all the mallards, swans and geese I see regularly.
It was very windy and cold today.
Here's the red-tailed hawk which I saw right near the WVA. It must have just finished eating because it has blood on its breast and claws.

Previously Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw American Tree Sparrow
The flock of American Tree Sparrows near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area seems to be growning. On Dec 30, I watched maybe a hundred or so of them working the vast big blue stem field. They would fly back into the pines every now and then.
