Here is a photo of some of the big blue stem at the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area.
Below is a cruddy shot of a couple bald eagles that stopped on the ice of lake Marsden to pick at something.

Today Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw Sandhill Cranes
Sandhill cranes have been nesting near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area for a few years. Today, I saw four of them for the first time this year.
I'm not a videographer but I decided I had to get a recording of the crane call.

Today Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw Otter Tracks
I'm pretty sure these are river otter tracks. Look how there are a few steps and slide in the pair of tracks on the right. There are some fresh tracks at the bottom of the frame.
There is a lot of activity in this area so I think I'll be setting up a blind when the ice is out...

Today at the TCAAP WVA, I Saw Curves in Snow
I stopped by the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area after work today to try out my new/used 20mm f2.8 lens. I was laying down in the snows for this shot on the right.

Today at the TCAAP WVA, I Saw No Sign
I found out today that the MN National Guard took the sign for the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area up to Camp Ripley to update it. Since the area hasn't really been the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant for a long time, they are going to change it to the Arden Hills Army Training Site.
I suppose my blog name needs to be updated when the sign changes.

Previously Near the TCAAP WVA, I Saw Robins
I usually see a flock of robins near the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area throughout the year. Last Saturday, I caught them near a small stream of open water.

The land around the TCAAP Wildlife Viewing Area was covered in hoar frost yesterday.
Here are a few of my favorite shots.
